Rules for travelling on public transport in Ostrava

  1. 1

Always travel with a valid ticket!

Whenever you enter a public transport vehicle, you should have a valid ticket (in the MojeDPO app, or an SMS ticket – SMS tickets are only available for Czech SIM cards), or you should buy a ticket from one of the onboard terminals immediately after entering the vehicle (using a bank card, a mobile device or a Credit Ticket).

  2. 2

Dogs and large items of luggage need their own ticket.

Make sure that you buy a separate ticket for large items of luggage. Dogs should always wear a muzzle and should be kept on a short leash. If you’re using a 24-hour ticket, a 3-day ticket or a 7-day ticket, large luggage and dogs can travel with you free of charge.

  3. 3

    In Ostrava we have

transport assistants, who will be happy to help you – but if you don’t have a valid ticket, they can stop you from continuing on your journey. We also have ticket inspectors, who will fine you if you don’t have a valid ticket or if you break the rules for travellers.

  4. 4

Behave as if you were at home,

where you wouldn’t drop litter under the seats, roller-skate indoors or walk around wearing a rucksack.

  5. 5

Ice cream, drinks and other refreshments

should be enjoyed outside. Please do not bring them into the vehicle with you.

  6. 6

    If you’re a cyclist,

don’t forget that a bike also needs its own ticket. Before taking a bike into the vehicle, you should tell the driver (ask, or at least gesture to inform the driver).

  7. 7

    Smile, you’re safe with us!

Our vehicles are equipped with video camera systems for your safety.

  8. 8

    Enjoy a comfortable journey

with air conditioning, wi-fi and USB connectors.
